About Arklite
Arklite Specialty Lamps Ltd established at Chakan, Pune in 1996 is a leading manufacturer of specialty lamps, based on quartz glass technology in South and East Asia.
We are the sole producer of specialty lamps that include UVQ germicidal lamps, Medium pressure mercury UV curing lamps, Graphic art MH lamps and high wattage floodlighting MH lamps in India. We also provide systems for water disinfection and high wattage floodlighting Metal Halide and their accessories.
Goal
Our goal is to become a global supplier of reliable broad range of UV lamps from its Indian facility. Our unique quartz processing facility, ISO 9001.2008 certified, is capable of manufacturing a diversified range of UV lamps ranging from 6 watts low pressure germicidal lamp to 6500 watt medium pressure lamp, used for graphic art application. ARKLITE has also diversified into highly energy efficient, high lumen output Metal Halide lamps that delivers over 220,000 lumen (2000 W MH lamp) output per lamp for flood applications, such as area lighting, railway yards, sport lighting etc.
Innovation & Technology
Focus on Innovation has helped our company to develop, manufacture and market a diversified range of over 100 type of UV lamps, from regular to HO and amalgam lamps. We have also leveraged this technology to develop water disinfection systems delivering germ free water from 0.5 CM/hr to 100 CM/hr.
Our continued interest in research and innovation enables us to provide custom designed lamps & systems to meet customer requirements. Our passionate team of scientists (that includes 4 PHDs and several with specialized masters degrees) continuously endeavors to develop products & systems that respond to customer requirements and bring them sustainable leverage.
Leadership Team
Founders
Dr. Avinash Kulkarni is a graduate from IIT, Bombay, followed by Ph.D. from University of Pennsylvania. He has 20 patents and technical publications in international journals. He has won the 1st National Award for Outstanding Entrepreneurship from the President of India .
He has worked in the US for a large multinational before coming to India. He has over 40 years of experience in the lighting industry.
Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni is a graduate from I.I.Sc., Bangalore, followed by Ph.D. from Columbia University, New York. He has 38 patents and technical publications in international journals. He worked in the USA for over 20 years with large companies such as Union Carbide, Exxon and IBM before returning to India in 1990.
Mr. Lokapur, has completed his B.Tech from I.I.T. Mumbai, followed by Masters in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University, USA in 1985.
Mr. Shirish Karkarey , has completed his B.Ch.E from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He has extensive sales experience with multinational companies.
Managing Director
Mr. Vikram Bapat is a master mariner and has completed his MBA from U21Global, Singapore. He has 14 years experience working in management positions with multinationals such as A.P. Moller – Maersk in Singapore before coming to India and joining Arklite.
